The core is made from multiple layers of corrugated cardboard, creating a strong, lightweight and fully pinnable structure. It is then upholstered with two different types of Vlieseline, which are also predominantly made from recycled materials.
Finally, each Mimiquin is finished with its own made-to-measure cover, created specifically to fit its unique shape. Our covers are made from 95% bamboo and 5% elastane, providing a smooth, flexible and beautifully fitted finish.
The result is a mannequin that is strong, pinnable, heat-resistant and made to be worked with for many years.
Absolutely! Your Mimiquin is fully pinnable and heat-resistant, so it’s designed to be used just as you need it throughout the dressmaking process.
You can pin directly into it, iron on it and use steam while fitting, draping and creating your garments.

Yes! Every Mimiquin comes complete with its own stand, included in the price.
The stand is height-adjustable, fitted with wheels for easy movement around your workspace, and includes a hem marker to make garment fitting and finishing even easier.
Yes! You can order arms at the same time as your Mimiquin, or add them within 12 months of your original order, as we keep your scan and design data on file for this period.
Just like your Mimiquin, the arms are uniquely yours and custom-made from your own scan and measurements, capturing your individual shape and proportions.
They are designed specifically to fit your Mimiquin, so they will be fully compatible and are completely detachable, allowing you to easily add or remove them depending on what you’re working on.
Absolutely! If you choose a Mimiquin model with legs, it’s an excellent tool for creating and fitting trousers.

Unlike other dress forms that rely heavily on foam and other plastic-derived materials, we don’t use a foam body. Instead, the core of your Mimiquin is made from fibre-based cardboard, creating a strong, durable and fully pinnable structure. Foam can become marked, compressed or damaged through repeated pinning and use, whereas our fibre-based construction is designed to withstand the realities of everyday dressmaking.

For deliveries outside the UK Mainland, shipping and customs costs will vary depending on your location. Simply send us your postcode or ZIP code, and we’ll provide you with an estimate for both shipping and any applicable customs charges.
And don’t worry — we’ll handle everything for you. We arrange the shipment, liaise with the courier and pay the shipping and customs charges on your behalf, so you don’t have to navigate the process yourself.
Once your Mimiquin has arrived safely with you and the final charges have been confirmed, we’ll send you a separate invoice for the shipping and customs costs.

Our preferred payment method is bank transfer. This helps us minimise transaction fees and, in turn, keep our prices as competitive as possible.

For optimal results, in-person 3D body scanning is the gold standard, particularly when precise body shape data is essential. While online body scans offer convenience and accessibility, they often lack the accuracy, security, and customization that in-person sessions provide. We are committed to ensuring you achieve the results you deserve.
During your in-person body scanning session, we guide you through the process, ensuring proper posture and offering immediate adjustments and feedback.
Achieving the correct posture can be challenging; even slight shifts in positioning can significantly impact the measurements, thereby affecting the accuracy of the final product. We strive to make the entire process feel quick and effortless.
Yes and no! As part of the design process, approximately three weeks after your scanning session, we’ll email you a complete set of visuals to review. These include your raw 3D scan, your proposed Mimiquin design from several different angles, and a selection of key reference measurements.
These measurements are specifically used for designing and producing your Mimiquin. They allow you to check important reference points and make sure you’re happy with everything before approving your design. They are not a full set of dressmaking measurements, so we don’t provide a separate dressmaking measurement chart from your scan.
However, once your Mimiquin arrives, you’ll have something even more useful — a physical replica of your own unique body shape and proportions. You can take any dressmaking measurements you need directly from your Mimiquin, whenever you need them.

Every Mimiquin is designed and made in the heart of Oxfordshire by our wonderful team of women. Nothing is outsourced — from developing your digital model to making and finishing your physical Mimiquin, we do it all ourselves.
Supporting women in the workplace is also incredibly important to us. We champion flexible working and opportunities for women, particularly those with young families, creating an environment where talented people can develop their skills while balancing work and family life.
And yes — we really did develop Mimiquins from scratch! What started as an idea became quite an adventure: experimenting, learning, problem-solving, refining and perfecting our processes until we mastered the craft and created the Mimiquins you see today.

No! While you are 3D scanned to capture your unique body shape, proportions and posture, your Mimiquin itself is not 3D printed.
Once your scan has been transformed into your bespoke digital design, the making of your Mimiquin becomes a highly skilled, artisanal process. Each one is individually constructed, upholstered, covered and finished by hand by our own team in Oxfordshire.
It takes time, skill and plenty of attention to detail — and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We love it!
Minor weight fluctuations, such as gaining or losing a few pounds, typically won’t have a significant impact on the overall fit of your mannequin.
We all experience fluctuations throughout the day, month, and year. However, the reality is that, on average, we tend to remain within a couple of sizes, and our body shape, bone structure, and proportions remain largely consistent.
